Starting from the base of the slope at Kulukumalai, the climb to the peak though fairly steep, is a strenuous if not a particularly challenging trek. A persistent breeze that can at times threaten to blow one off the mountain also offers succour on a warm day. The climb also gradually opens out broadening vistas as one goes higher, a stunning panorama of towering peaks, craggy rock faces, densely forested valleys and tea carpeted slopes.
