    Phantom Hills - Sunset View

    The highest tea plantation in the world, The jeep ride uphill to Kolukumalai is sure to specifically test both nerve and sinew, bumping and sliding over a narrow boulder strewn path. Beginning at the gates of the Kulkumalai tea plantation, jeeps are boarded for the 11km ride uphill, the best times to undertake the journey are when the first trips begin before dawn where guests will reach the top of the hill just as the sun begins to rise. Weather permitting the sunrises are gorgeous and the views of the surrounding mountains breathtaking.

    Meesapulimalai Peak - 4 hour Trek

    The distinctive peak draws its name from the words ‘meesa’ , ‘puli’ and ‘mala’ in the vernacular translating to whiskers, tiger and hill, alluding to its resemblance to a tiger’s face. At an altitude of 8661 ft, the Meesapulimalai trek is an interesting 8km route with challenges that avid trekkers will welcome. The route passes through high-altitude grasslands, rainforests and wildlife. past clusters of vividly coloured Rhododendrons, lively streams and sprawling tea estates, navigating through eight hills.

    Tipada Malai

    At 2236m the highest point in the area, Tipada Malai soars above the Kulukumalai Tea plantation. Starting from the base of the slope at Kulukumalai, the climb to the peak though fairly steep, is a strenuous if not a particularly challenging trek. A persistent breeze that can at times threaten to blow one off the mountain also offers succour on a warm day. The climb also gradually opens out broadening vistas as one goes higher, a stunning panorama of towering peaks, craggy rock faces, densely forested valleys and tea carpeted slopes.
